  • Part I - Joan Bateman, FDIC Compliance Review Examiner

    Joan Bateman, FDIC Compliance Review Examiner, will review the HMDA and CRA data collection and reporting requirements in time for your 2006 submissions. The presentation will cover the "intermediate small banks", the new community development test and analyzing the CRA/HMDA results.

    Joan Bateman will spend 25-30 minutes on recent FDIC findings so attendees are aware of some of the concerns of the FDIC examiners. She will also share some recent examination findings and emerging issues. She will also let attendees know what to expect during upcoming examinations.

Len Suzio - President of GeoDataVision
Ochoa Len Suzio is a cofounder of GeoDataVision, a company specializing in working with community banks to help them meet their compliance responsibilities under CRA. The company provides mapping and data analysis services as well as important market data needed for CRA analysis and effective marketing. Len has spoken at the ABA National Compliance Conference, America's Community Bankers Compliance Conference as well as at state and regional bank meetings. He also has written and had published articles on CRA compliance.

Joan M. Bateman - FDIC Compliance Field Supervisor
Joan Bateman is the Compliance Field Supervisor for the Southern New England Territory of the FDIC. In this capacity, Joan supervises the compliance and CRA examinations of FDIC-supervised institutions headquartered in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Western Massachusetts, and Southeastern Massachusetts. Joan has 15 years of experience with the FDIC and 12 years of experience in the consumer compliance and CRA areas. Prior to being appointed to her current position, Joan was the Field Review Examiner for the Southern New England Territory. Joan has spoken at the ABA National Conference as well as a number of seminars sponsored by Massachusetts Bankers Associations and Bank Compliance Association of Connecticut.
