Kathleen "Kitty" Ryan
Partner, Akerman, LLP

Former CFPB Deputy Assistant Director for the Office of Regulations, and key contributor to the new CFPB HMDA regulations. During her time at the CFPB, Kitty oversaw the completion of the TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure rulemaking and the HMDA rulemaking that completely rewrote Regulation C. She also advised on enforcement and supervisory matters and supervised the development of the CFPB’s debt collection rulemaking.

As a former regulatory lawyer at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Thomas played a key role developing and drafting multiple mortgage originations related rulemakings. He most recently led the team responsible for the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act rulemakings. Thomas was also substantially involved in the CFPB’s Truth in Lending Act - Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act Integrated Disclosure or Know Before You Owe rulemaking and the Ability-to-Repay and Qualified Mortgage rulemakings.
